Drug interactions Tamsolusin, Amlodipine and Sildenafil.

I’ve just been prescribed Tamsolusin to ease bladder irritation after having had radiotherapy.
I take Amlodipine for high blood pressure and Sildenafil 50mg (once/twice weekly) for erection dysfunction without any problems. I’m concerned though that introducing Tamsolusin to the mix will cause problems regarding my blood pressure.
I just wondered if anyone else takes this combination of medication and if they’ve suffered any significant side effects due to their interaction and how did you time taking the medication.

  1. Hi . I can't personally speak to this issue, but I did find that for sildenafil together with tamsulosin "Combining these medications can lower your blood pressure and increase the risk of dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, flushing, headache, and nasal congestion" (see: https://www.drugs.com/drug-interactions/sildenafil-with-tamsulosin-2061-0-2146-0.html). It is further suggested to speak to your doctor. It is often also often useful to speak to a pharmacist. Hope this information is helpful. Best, Richard (Team Member)
