What if your free PSA % is low (6%) but your total PSA is 1.6 ng/ml. 50 year old with no symptoms. Free PSA is 0.1 ng/ml.

Hi . It is understandable that the low percentage of Free PSA would catch your attention. I need to note that we are not medical professionals and, for your protection, cannot offer diagnostic advice. I can tell you that many medical sites note that the low Free PSA generally comes into play in looking for prostate cancer when the overall PSA is borderline or higher (see for example here: https://www.health.harvard.edu/blog/what-is-the-difference-between-psa-and-free-psa-20091001123 and here: https://www.prostate.org.au/testing-and-diagnosis/psa-testing/free-to-total-psa-testing). If you have a urologist you may want to ask for further clarification and thoughts on what these numbers mean. Best, Richard (Team Member)
