One day at a time

One day at a time
Maybe life was always meant to be lived in smaller pieces. Not in decades, not in years, not even in months, but in days. One day at a time. Maybe you don’t need to worry about how you'll survive the next ten years. Maybe you just need to focus on surviving this one day. Get through the morning. Get through the afternoon. Get through the night. When tomorrow comes, you face it the same way, step by step, moment by moment. That’s how the weight becomes bearable. That’s how you keep moving without being crushed by the thought of forever. The beautiful thing is, when you live this way, the picture slowly forms on its own. You don’t have to know every detail right now. You don’t have to see the whole map. Each step you take builds the path beneath you. Each day you survive becomes part of the story you're writing. Life doesn't demand that you figure it all out. It only asks that you keep walking. And maybe that's enough.

  1. Hi . Thank you for posting this. There is a lot to be said for treating life as a series of moments. I often think that people that have to deal with an illness or disease learn to look at the small pictures to construct the big picture that makes up a life. My wife, Kelly, was diagnosed with a severe form of an autoimmune condition at age two (juvenile idiopathic arthritis in her case) and has used a wheelchair since childhood. I often say that she gets me to do things I probably would never do otherwise. She has a way of finding those moments and making those memories. Wishing you the best in finding your story. Best, Richard (Team Member)
