Where I Stand Today: With a 3/25 EPI (High Likelihood), and 3 Different 4K’s each getting higher risk. Last two 4k’s were only two weeks apart 23.3 then 29.8. One year earlier 3.5
I’m not getting the same vib’s as my doctor on the Post Biopsy visit. “Good news no cancer found”. Active Surveillance with 6 month follow up and do MPS2.
I Guess I Don’t Feel Like My Doctor Is Going The Extra Mile. I Would Prefer To Find It And See What We Are Dealing With.

  1. Hi . You have certainly been through a lot and your concerns are understandable. On one level the recent PI-RADS two appears to be potentially positive. On another level a blind biopsy, especially following an MRI is surprising. One thing I would note regarding your question about the second opinion is that you are always entitled to one and, as noted in this article on the topic, any doctor worth their salt should welcome it: https://prostatecancer.net/living/second-opinion. In addition, some insurance companies even require one (although it is important to check with insurance). Remember, it is your body and your call. Please feel free to keep us posted and to ask further questions. Best, Richard (Team Member)

  2. I would definitely get a 2nd opinion from a cancer center of excellence. Like a teaching hospital, university, etc. Even it it means traveling to see a top prostate doc. Also an online consult with a top prostate doc would work to get another opinion. I would also ask for a Fusion guided transperineal biopsy if you have another one at some point. Hoping you get some definitive answers. Best wishes.
