Urinary problems

Hi all
I’m in my 18th day of 28 days of radiation. It has been going pretty good. Urinary problems started to show up. Having difficulty peeing at night. They increased my flomax which helped! Day time is very manageable but not the night time. Up all night trying to pee. Prescribed prednisone which I have not taken yet. Side effects look horrible. I’m already on lupron. Just wondering if anyone has taken both of those together and what were the results. Did the prednisone knock out the inflammation from the radiation to make it easier to pee at night? I have 10 more days of radiation and just thinking if I should tough it out. Thanks guys

  1. Hi . I can't personally speak on prednisone for urinary issues, but there is research finding it to be effective with minimal side effects: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC10562155/. I can tell you that my wife was diagnosed with a severe form of an autoimmune condition at age two, 47 years ago and has taken prednisone for inflammation for many years. She has had few side effects, although we know others on long-term use who have had issues. That said, it is known to be very effective for inflammation, particularly in the short-term. Hope this information is helpful, but don't hesitate to take your concerns to your doctor. Best, Richard (Team Member)
