What was the worst thing that happened ie accident since having a RP

I had one thing straight after surgery going to the ward the orderly was in such a hurry that when he raced down the hallway at the hospital he caught the catheter bag on the side of a bed that was parked in the hallway which broke the clip of the catheter bag and pulled it off the bed which then yanked my penis quite hard straight after surgery which makes me wonder is that why I have incontinence 18 months later still. Then buggered it off and didn't help the nurses get me out of bed or to change my gown.

  1. Hi . As a non-medical professional I can't say if this incident following your surgery could be the cause of your prolonged incontinence, but this could be a question for the doctor or a pelvic floor therapist. As a side note, I recall that you had a slight PSA show up in a recent test. Has the doctor scheduled a follow-up for you? Wishing you the best. Richard (Team Member)

  2. Well, I had a severe case of Afib immediately following surgery, which took a while to get under control. After much testing, the end result is that my cardiologist diagnosed me with mild microvascular disease, managed with medication.

One other thing - the day after surgery, during discharge, the nurse restrapped my up-to-that-point very comfortable catheter tube in a very uncomfortable position, assuring me that it was better for when I would be home and up and around.

I leaked horribly from the tube on the way home and was in some pretty intense pain, so we ended up going to the ER, and they strapped it back the way it was originally…15 minutes in ER, $500.
