I know it looks serious and I’m looking for peoples in similar situation. What can I expect, experience. Just started hormone therapy and getting my bones scan today. Very nervous about it.
Hi . The concern over Gleason 9 PCa is certainly understandable, but there are some positives here in that it sounds like the cancer was found fairly early with the N1 and M1 in the staging (see: https://prostatecancer.net/diagnosis/understand-test). I noticed that you are getting a bone scan, will this be a PSMA PET scan? I ask because it is considered the gold standard in finding PCa that has spread (see: https://prostatecancer.net/treatment/psma-targeted-pet-imaging and https://prostatecancer.net/clinical/psma-imaging-scan). Also, mind if I ask what type of scan you had for the staging? It may be early, but have the doctors started discussing treatment options? Please don't hesitate to ask questions here as you look at options. Best, Richard (Team Member)
