Metastasis prostate cancer

Depression after knee advanced prostate cancer

  1. Hi . You are not alone. There are a number of men here with advanced prostate cancer. This article from our editorial team discusses managing depression and anxiety with prostate cancer: https://prostatecancer.net/living-coping/depression-anxiety. Are you currently being treated for metastasis? Best, Richard (Team Member)

    1. Hi Richard how are you?
Nope not yet next week I will have an appointment with my oncologist radiologist in order to discuss the radiation IV treatment.
But like I was telling you before when my doctor told me it has metastasize my first question to my oncologist was is it terminal?
And he told me straight no there still more treatment that we may try on you.
But still for me I tried to found answer and my big mistake was to Google and as you know on Google is only pessimistic statics.
So since then I been tried to get off hold of some body with the same life experience in order to be more educated about this topic.
      Regards Richard

    2. Hi . I can tell you your doctor is right that there are now a number of treatments for metastatic prostate cancer. We have a number of men here who have had metastatic PCa for a quite a while. For example, here is the bio for Tony: https://prostatecancer.net/community-advocates/tony-collier. You can find a link at the bottom to all of his articles about his treatment and experiences.. This article from the Mayo Clinic gives a good overview of the treatments: https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/metastatic-prostate-cancer/diagnosis-treatment/drc-20377972. Hope this information is useful and please feel free to keep us posted on how you are doing and to ask questions - this community is here for you. Best, Richard (Team Member)

  2. Hey Osuna71. I have Stage IVB metastatic prostate cancer. There are lots of options. My doctor recommended heavy chemotherapy and ADT, followed with ADT and Xtandi for maintenance. I'm also two years out now from diagnosis. And so far, no cancer on CT and bond scans, and a PSA below laboratory detection levels.

If you are like me, consider something to kick the can down the road until new and even better drugs come to market. We may beat this stuff is we can time it right. Don't lose hope. You are not alone.

    1. Hi . Thanks for sharing what has helped you. Glad to hear that your PSA is undetectable and the scans are good. You are right, there are new advances in treating PCa coming out all of the time! Best, Richard (Team Member)

  3. Thank you all for at least for now I know there still other treatments for bone metastasis,I saw my self on a wheel chair, completely paralyzed etc, when they told me when I heard from other people or when I looked up for information on Google about it that when I got anxious and depressed.
