side effects

I was treated about 3 years ago, maybe more. My psa was about 11. I was treated with 5 cybercide radiation treatments. I need a little Viagra from time to time but I can function pretty well. To be quite honest I really don't think I need it. Not much anyways. I don't get tired at all and maybe that's because I exercise moderately at least 4 times a week. I don't leak at all, not even a drip. It seems that the only problem I had was with the medication for urine flow. I took it but it made me a little week and somewhat delirious. I still took it until I was convinced my urine flow was ok. My last psa check was a month ago and its down to 0.53. I'm very happy with my treatment. Keep in mind with radiation psa can bounce up and down a few times, maybe more so be patient and optimistic. You will experience bowel urgency in the begging for a week or so but then it goes away. Really it was a piece of cake.

  1. Hi . Thanks for sharing your experience and glad to hear your recovery has gone so well. My father-in-law had a combination of Cyberknife and traditional radiation and also experienced relatively few side effects. Excellent point about about being prepared for the and not getting too anxious about the PSA bounce. Jim wrote here about angst of dealing with the bounce: https://prostatecancer.net/living/stats-angst-test-results. Best, Richard (Team Member)
