ejaculation

I had laser prostatectomy 3 yrs ago & can get erections ok, my ejaculate is strange (to me)---it is copious , say 50 mls, not white semen but clear & not urine--it tastes more like pre-cum.
It does not stain the bed sheets. What is it? Will I ever get white semen again??

  1. Hi . Prostate surgery can impact a man's ejaculation in various ways depending on the procedure. Most typical is for there to no longer be any ejaculate. If the seminal vesicles were spared during surgery it is possible for there to still be some seminal fluid. This article from the American Cancer Society goes into further detail: https://www.cancer.org/treatment/treatments-and-side-effects/physical-side-effects/fertility-and-sexual-side-effects/sexuality-for-men-with-cancer/ejaculation-and-treatment.html#:~:text=Surgery%20effect%20on%20ejaculation,can%20no%20longer%20make%20semen. (see also: https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT01825642). Your doctor should be able to detail your procedure and how it is effecting your ejaculate. Best, Richard (ProstateCancer.net Team)

    1. I have the same sort of ejaculate. Copious, clear. At first I thought it was urine but it isn't. Strangely, it happens prior to orgasm not during. It is like pre-cum. I had a surgical prostatectomy so I know I will never have white semen again. Your condition could be different.

      1. thank u for the reply. It's great to know that someone else has this experience--a problem shared...Did u get the pre-cum analysed in the lab? Sometimes mine can be as much as 1/3 of a cup. Does ur partner complain? My wife doesn't like it--says its too much & messy but it never stains the sheets

      1. having the pre-cum analyzed in a lab is a great idea. The doctors do not know much about it. They think it is urine leakage but it really is not.
